Safety Guidelines & Rider Policy

At Luxor Stables, your safety and the well-being of our animals are our top priorities. All of our riding activities and excursions undergo thorough risk assessments to ensure a secure, enjoyable, and memorable experience on the West Bank of Luxor.

Horse & Rider Matching

To ensure a safe and comfortable trail for everyone, we carefully match each rider with a suitable horse based on:

Rider Ability & Experience: From complete beginners to advanced equestrians.
Rider Weight: Strictly adhering to our weight limits (maximum 95 kg / 209 lbs for daily excursions and 85 kg / 187 lbs for multi-day riding holidays).

Protective Equipment Provided

Proper riding gear is essential for a safe journey on the trail:

Hard Hats / Safety Helmets: Provided for all horse riding excursions and strongly recommended for all riders.
Chaps & Leg Protection: Available upon request to prevent chafing and ensure comfortable riding.
Required Footwear: All riders are required to wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear (such as sneakers or riding boots). Sandals and flip-flops are strictly prohibited while riding.

Experienced Escort & Guidance

You will always be accompanied by trained local staff throughout your trip:

Horse Riding Excursions: Accompanied by professional, English-speaking guides who offer instructions, assistance, and local knowledge along the route.
Camel & Donkey Trips: Each camel and donkey is individually led on foot by an experienced handler.

Medical & Health Disclosures

For your own safety and the protection of fellow riders:

Please inform the stable owner or your chief guide prior to setting off if you have any pre-existing injuries, physical limitations, or medical conditions that could affect your ability to ride safely.

Health & Hygiene Protocols

To maintain a safe and clean environment at our stables:

Handwashing facilities are provided and recommended upon returning from trails.
Please do not visit the stables if you exhibit active illness or respiratory symptoms.
